Beautiful blue…

So here I go with my first blog post…

I have a thing for colours so I thought I’d start by introducing you to my favourite colour – BLUE – pretty much any shade. From aqua to royal blue and all hues in between.

  • The tropical sea,
  • The sky on a cloudless day, alize bleu (yes that’s how it’s spelt – I checked)
  • Electric eel and aquadisiac MAC eye shadows
  • Ink cartridges for Parker pens (remember those?)

Give me any tint, tone or shade of blue and I’ll love it!

Some people won’t use blue to decorate a room as they think it’ll be cool and unwelcoming, but I disagree. The right shade, in the right place can completely open up a room.

If your room is south facing, even though it changes throughout the day (and year) you’ll get warm light all day and you could use a cool shade of blue that will make your room look breezy and bright.

Not feeling overly bold? Then some well placed bright accessories will personalise your space and inject some life into it.

If you’re going for a dense and luxurious feel in an average sized room, you could use a deep blue on one wall and make a feature of it to create your desired atmosphere.

Go on, give blue a try!

  1. To me the colour blue is great to wear, but in terms of decorating my house or room, I find it lacking in comfort. Does that make sense? I especially dislike turquoise for bathrooms, I find it uncomfortable and cold, but when it comes to choosing clothes, I think, next to black, blue is the most convenient and easy to match. Maybe because everything goes with jeans! It’s funny how people see things!
