London Design Festival – Farrow and Ball event

The London Design Festival was last week and by all accounts it was a good one.
As ever, there were quite a few events I wanted to go to, but life got in the way and I wasn’t able to do everything I wanted to. BUT I did manage to get to the Farrow and Ball event, ‘Pattern & Colour in the Home’ at their Islington store.

The evening started with a brief overview of the Farrow and Ball brand, the history of the company and the inspiration behind their prints, patterns and colours.
Store manager Nicola then discussed how they create modern, classic and bold schemes using five neutral colour palettes.

Then we were taken through their ’10 Ways with Wallpaper Workshop’. As the title suggests, we were shown how customers have used wallpaper to makeover unexpected parts of their homes. My favourites were a reworked lampshade and wallpaper being used to help a wardrobe ‘disappear’ into a wall.

Some companies can be a bit precious about how their products are used, so I like the fact that Farrow and Ball encourage their customers to use any leftovers creatively.

Their range of paints and papers are forever popular and I’ve used them previously, but it was nice to hear how they use their own products and how they advise customers to.

And what would an event be without a goody bag?!

I love a goody bag

The ladies at the Islington branch are knowledgeable, helpful, wonderful hosts and very very lovely. Thanks for a great evening and I’ll be seeing you soon!
