People tend to have questions when it comes to interior design, so here are some FAQs to help you out.
How much do you charge?
That completely depends on which service you go for. For example, there is a one off flat fee for the one room scheme and the online service, but other services incur costs along the way. Get in touch for specifics.
What exactly does an interior designer do?
An interior designer is someone who should help you get the most from your home and will work with you to create a space that suits you and your lifestyle best. A designer should also make sure you’re happy with the choices made and that ultimately your home is a proper reflection of you.
Why should I hire or work with with an interior designer?
An interior designer will help you:
- fine tune your ideas
- consider options you might never have thought of
- relieve some of the stress that can come from making changes to your home
- achieve a unique home perfectly suited to you
How long will it take to redecorate/change my room?
This will depend on what level of work needs doing. Structural/building works can take weeks (and much longer if you need planning permission), decorating won’t usually take as long. Before any work is started a schedule of works should be drawn up and discussed.
I’ve decided to get the furniture/rug that you suggested – do I buy it or do you?
Either way works. You’re free to buy agreed pieces, but if you’d prefer me to get them, this can be pre-arranged.
Will I be charged every time you come to my home?
The first consultation is free, but the service you decide on will determine how many (if any) home visits are necessary. These visits (and costs) will be discussed and agreed before any work is started.
Do you provide decorators/workmen?
I’ve found that clients prefer to use tradesman they’ve used previously or that have been personally recommended to them. But I’m happy to help you find tradespeople if needs be.
Do I have to have a preferred theme or style for my room?
Not at all! It’s all about you and what you want your home to look and feel like. My goal is to work with you to create a home that truly feels like yours. If your personal style isn’t one you’d find in a magazine, all the better!
