Christmas gifts for your dining area

Well here we are, it’s December and silly season has kicked off, Christmas is ‘a go’!

Christmas shopping is in full effect, but like last year I intend to do everything from the comfort and warmth of my front room, online all the way.

Even though I don’t, I know lots of people do love the thrill of December shopping, being out there and hunting for bargains, so over the next few posts I’ll be giving you some ideas for Christmas gifts not for your loved ones (I’m sure you’ve got those all sorted by now) but for your lovely home.

Today we kick off with your dining room/dining area. We spend a large part of the Christmas period eating so why not show your ‘eating space’ some love too?

one: add some drama to your dining with an ornate mirror from Dunelm Mill

two: brighten up your table with some vibrant placemats from Habitat

three: sparkles don’t only have to be in your glass – four beaded coasters from Marks & Spencer

four: give your dining room/area a stunning centrepiece with this Clarence Doughnut pendant light from Heal’s

five: if you don’t fancy a full tablecloth this year, try a runner like this one from Habitat

six: for a classic or dramatic table setting a candleabra always fits the bill, this is from Oliver Bonas

seven: use an elegant carafe like this one from Dartington.co.uk and you won’t have to think about how many bottles of wine you’ve got through

eight: a good looking dinner set makes the food tastes better doesn’t it? Pied a Terre Peacock set from House of Fraser

nine: you need good chairs to take the turkey weight and to support you through your leisurely, lovely meal like these solid Fjord chairs from made.com

ten: a sideboard, a friend to all dining spaces and somewhere to store all your new bits and pieces, Isala from IKEA

If you really want to give your dining area a full makeover, take a look at my Pinterest ‘dining style’ board for some very good looking inspiration.

Stay tuned for the next set of Christmas gifts –  for your hallway.
