Grand Designs Live – ExCeL London

How was your long weekend? Mine was a good’un, but over too soon.

On bank holiday Monday I went for a wander round the mammoth exhibition centre that is the ExCeL and passed a few hours spending lots of imaginary money at Grand Designs Live.

If you’ve never been, or have no idea what I’m talking about – their website says…

“Based on the Channel 4 TV series, and presented by design guru Kevin McCloud, the event is packed to the brim with ideas, design and innovation for every room in your home. With over 500 exhibitors, across seven different sections, covering interiors, gardens, home improvement, self-build, renovations, technology and shopping, there really is something for everyone.

Whether you are planning to improve, redesign or simply redecorate your home, you’ll find everything that you need, all under one roof at Grand Designs Live.”

They’re not lying.

There is A LOT to look at, from household basics to new fangled, state of the art tech you can pick up virtually anything you need (home-wise).

As I’m sure you’d expect, I took a few photos of things that caught my eye.

The Harrods pop-up restaurant – silver service and everything! Don’t know what you had to do to get in though?!

A fleet of 612 electric Mini Coopers (like this one) are going to be used around town during the Olympics.

I WILL have a walk-in wardrobe one day, I WILL!

A diddy little sewing nook – check out the cute knitted stool covers.

Don’t be scared of colour in your kitchen, see how good it looks!

Simply dreamy…

This front door has my name all over it – well not literally…

Well after all that walking around it would have been rude not to…

Grand Designs Live is on until Sunday 13 May so if you want to saunter round you still can. Have fun!
