Home London

Last Sunday saw the start of ‘tradeshow season’ so I pulled myself out of my hibernation hidey-hole (also known as my house) and made my way to Earl’s Court to visit ‘Home London’.

What is Home you say? Well the organisers will tell you that:

Home is the UK’s definitive homewares and accessories buying event, a beautifully designed and curated tradeshow sitting alongside Top Drawer and Craft in the heart of London. Home brings together over 250 of the very best modern and classic brands from around the world and a carefully vetted selection of new, innovative products.

Now you know.

Home London

Anyway, my love of homewares is rather well documented across the pages of this blog o’mine, so I’m sure you can understand that I. Was. In. My. Element.

Believe me when I say there was PLENTY to see, like – a whole lot of a lot. The kind of place you have to visit in comfy shoes and on a full stomach.

As is usual with such events I am now yearning for that elusive lottery win so I can afford to buy everything I fell for (and to buy the huge house to put it all in).

Here’s a little round-up of a few of my favourite stands, collections and pieces from the day – I promise it’s just a few…

house of hemingway

House of Hemingway / G Plan Vintage – surely I don’t even need to explain what I loved about this stand. 50s and 60s styling, sitting pretty in 2014 or as they put it ‘turning yesterday’s classics into the icons of tomorrow’. Colours, patterns and shapes – oh my! I would happily accept every single piece and love them to death.

mel smith

Mel Smith Designs – I was drawn into this stand by the bright, bold colours and great prints on the cushions, notebooks, lampshades and tea towels. Wonderful stuff, rounded off nicely with a chat with the lovely lady herself.

PicCollage

Redback Cards – self explanatory methinks, and they made me laugh, a lot.

bloomingville

Bloomingville – This new range launched in the UK late last year, has quickly become one of my favourite brands with their fab scandi colour palette, simple styling and great prices.

coach house

Coach House – only sell to trade customers, but they have some truly beautiful pieces for every room of the home.

Like I said, this was just a few of my faves from the show as I didn’t want to bore you tears (you know, like that person that shows every single one of their holiday snaps). I hope you’ve enjoyed the pretty as much as I did.

What’s your top pick?
